Like many reptiles, iguanas are cold-blooded, egg-laying animals with an excellent ability to adapt to their environment. Their ability to adapt is a strong factor in their ability to survive. Adaptation is the way in which organisms change or evolve to meet the needs of their environment. Adapting to their environment is generally geared toward protection and survival. We as humans also would beneft greatly from being adaptable.

Be ready to adapt is lesson 5 in the Never Give Up Teachings.

Lesson 1: Never Stop Trying
Lesson 2: Learn from your Difficulties
Lesson 3: Never Give up no Matter What
Lesson 4: How We React

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. ” Anthony Robbins

So what are you going to change those things in your life you’re not happy about.

My life has gone through a rollercoaster ride. For a time it just seemed every move I made seemed to hit an insurmountable obstacle. So much had been taken away from me and I was trying to keep the remains going with so few resources. Every day seemed like a battle, and often ones that was near impossible to win. No matter what I tried to do it was as though I’d hit a roadblock that I couldn’t go over, under, around, or through.

Yet I refused to give up and admit to failure. Slowly but surely I picked up the message of what all these current events were signaling to me. I’d lost my way and was simply fighting for survival doing a job that no longer enthralled me. I had been battered and bruised by what had gone on and couldn’t get myself out of the rut while continuing on the same path.

It should have been obvious to me that that plowing over and over doing the same things, running into the same brick wall wasn’t the best use of either my time or resources. I had seen gym ownership as my way to make the difference, providing something totally unique to the areas in which I operated. I had big dreams, and in fact achieved amazing results. I know there were many people whose health was changed for the better by my gyms. But it had run its course my path had to change.

It took too long for me to realize this, but once I did then the course of my life changed dramatically. I started to realize that we have to be able to adapt, ready to change direction when the time is right.

When I began to look ahead, I saw that it was time to change course, doing something new that would be more in alignment with my dreams. I continued to chase my dreams, knowing that although things were bad for me at this stage this would be the way to transform my life.

This is an important point that I learnt, no matter how bad things may be you have to believe they can get better. You have to focus your mind on possibilities, and see ahead with you climbing back to the top. If you don’t you’re making the decision to stay where you are.

What seems like failure at this time may in the future turn out to be the catalyst to move you on to the right path, When I look back to my time of disaster I can no longer think of it as failure now, not with how everything worked out. I wouldn’t have found the right path if these things hadn’t happened.

I was able to adapt. I was able to listen to my heart, found something I loved to do and discovered that not only did I have a passion for it, but that I was also good at it.

For a time I was like a dead man walking. I had so many doubts. It’s was hard to get my head around what had happened. But once my mind was able to click in, then I was able to search within for what changes I needed to bring about to take my life forward. Who would have thought that I would become a blogger and owner of online ecommerce stores that would succeed as mine has. I didn’t even know I could write, I’m still not sure. Maybe you can let me know.

For a time I had an unbelievably negative mindset unable to come to terms with what had happened, seeing my life full of dilemmas and problems, my self-belief crashed and I couldn’t see any way out of my awful situation. Being like this offered me no ray of hope and just kept me down and in a desperately bad place.

Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to change will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent. Nolan Ryan

All success is successful adaptation. All failure is a failure to adapt. That’s why it’s so important to have flexibility, adaptability and adjustability if you wish to make your way to success. You need these personality characteristics to deal with the hard knocks of change and challenges we all face in life on our road to success.

So be ready to adapt if you want at long last to enjoy success in your life.
