Concentrate on the solutions not problems

The key to success is for you to focus single-mindedly on the solutions rather than the problems. No longer can you allow your life to meander on or allow problems and setbacks to hold you up.

We as human beings are so good at finding ourselves in a negative state of mind and we power this up by our use of negative internal questioning.

How did I expect to get things turning around when I constantly asked myself disempowering questions:

  • Why did this happen to me?
  • What should I have done to have prevented this?
  • Why did this go so wrong?

The good news is that you have within you, right now, everything you need to deal with any problem or crisis you face in life. There are always answers to everything that comes your way. There is no problem that you cannot solve by applying your intelligence and creativity to finding the solution. We all have the capacity of asking ourselves empowering questions to tap into our minds to find the best solutions and the direction in which we need to head.  We just have to be prepared to ask these questions and turn inward for the answers we seek.

The more you think about possible solutions, the more solutions will occur to you—and the better they will be. In addition you will be far more positive, focused, and creative because you know you’re no longer sitting back doing nothing about your situation.

There is no obstacle that you cannot overcome or get around if you are determined and persistent enough.  Alas too often you look for answers to life’s questions by looking outside of yourself and listening to the advice from those around you.

When you realize that you always have access to the part of you that always knows what you need and is meant to act as your inner compass, you can stop searching outside of yourself. Only within will provide you with the solutions right for you.

You will face a continual series of problems and difficulties throughout your life, but as you face up to and surmount each one, you become all you are capable of becoming, and you’ll grow stronger as you face up to and beat each one. Our minds really are like onboard computers yet more often than not we choose not to use them.

One of our biggest problems is all the mental chatter that keeps going on in our minds. There never seems to be any silence. When things are going badly for us this chatter mainly focuses on negativity. What you have to learn is to just shut it down, allow your mind to clear and stop its constant thoughts. Then direct it down a path you will gain some clarity from. In reality this is so simple. You simply need to ask yourself a good question, something like, what is the best way for me to deal with this situation. Then keep guard of your mind, keep the constant chatter quiet and observe any answers that may rise up.

Simply put, the quality of the questions you ask yourself will dictate the quality of your life. Our personal view of reality hinges on what we focus our minds on. Questions are one of the fastest ways to change our mental focus. It’s so easy when times are tough to keep asking ourselves ‘why does this shit keep happening to me?’ Yet this does nothing apart from keep your life in turmoil. Instead react in the right way, inspire yourself to action, by asking a better question such as ‘Where do I want my life to go from here, what dream do I want to fulfill?’

The questions we ask ourselves on a daily basis could very well be the most critical and important factors that determine our success, happiness and fulfilment in life. In fact, the questions that we persistently ask ourselves internally influence our thoughts, habits, decisions and actions in unbelievable ways.  They are at the heart of who we are and what we do.

Questions provide the mind with meaning, direction and focus. As soon as we ask a question, our mind immediately begins searching for an answer. Questions that cause us to focus on possibilities and solutions are the ones that empower us. The problem is, we can easily slip into the habit of asking ourselves questions that are limiting, or even mentally and emotionally disabling.

Start asking these type of questions of yourself:

1.         What’s the way forward?

2.         What do I want my life to be about?

3.         Who do I want to be and what experiences do I want to create?

4.         Am I giving my best to everything I do?

5.         What do I want to accomplish?

6.         What do I want to do more of each day?

7.         What can I be the best at in the world?

8.         What’s the most effective thing for me to focus on?

9.         What would success look like?

10.       What do I need to be successful?

One thing failure tells us is that we need to make changes. Something we are doing is wrong. It brings a message to us that we have to learn from. We have to get back to our feet and make deliberate choices of where we now want to take our lives. Our future depends on how we think and how we respond, it will determine whether we once again succeed or whether we accept far less than we deserve. So get in the habit of asking empowering questions because that way you will find the solutions you need.

The most important thing for you to understand is that the greatest challenge of life is to control our very own thought process and if we do this successfully we can handle any situation or problem that confronts us.

And let me share with you a question that helped me completely turn my life around.

What should I do differently next time around?

This made it clear to me that what had happened was the closure of that chapter in my life, but now I was free to do things differently and better. It really did give me the blank canvas on which I could design my life all over again. That’s when I began to fuel myself  by asking inspiring questions, and they really did help to change my contribute beyond ourselves in a meaningful way life.

We really have to be strong minded to make sure we are not permanently knocked off course and taken in a direction not of our choosing.  All that we do and all that we think and decide has to be based on conscious thought, not made from a place of panic and confusion.  If we can change the way we see, evaluate and decide about the things that happen to us and the way we want to proceed in life, then we truly will sky rocket our life.

You see the destiny of our life, our outcomes are very much dependent on the way we think. What we think about and how we think will have the greatest influence on how we deal with every event in our life, including those life challenges.

The road to success may be a long one filled with many obstacles, but something amazing is awaiting each and every one of us at the road’s end.

“Failure is success if we learn from it”. Malcolm Forbes

It’s time for you to start using your mind and the powers within it to build the life of your dreams. No more sitting back and allowing your life to just happen out of your control.  No longer can you just accept things happening to you, instead you will now take control of your life. You may have lost many things, but you have not lost hope, you can still achieve many magnificent things.

Imagine you’re now living the life you have always wanted. What does that look like? We will be looking at this in far more detail later on.

Are you doing what you love most? Are you spending your time engaged in activities that most inspire you? Are your relationships where you want them to be?

Develop the habit of asking this question, “What one great thing would I dare to dream, if I knew I could not fail?”

Imagine that you have a magic wand that you can wave and you will be absolutely guaranteed of success in anything you attempt, large or small, long-term or short term. What goals would you set for yourself if you were guaranteed of success in any area? What are your biggest dreams? “Dreams can drive you. Dreams can make you skip over obstacles,” according to Jim Rohn, the legendary US business philosopher

Dorothy Brande once wrote, “Act as if it were impossible to fail, and it shall be!”

So ask yourself the question, what one great thing would you dare to dream if you knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you absolutely could not fail? This is one of the most important questions of all, because this can really show you your great dream and your great ambition in life. And, if you can write the answer to this question, it means that you can have it, that’s right, what you see you can receive. . The very fact that you can think clearly about what the answer is, and that you can write the answer down on paper, means that you are capable of accomplishing it. This will drive you forward believing that you can accomplish your dream.

The power to completely and utterly change your entire life is already within you. Indeed, you are where you are today because of that same power – you just did not know how to harness it. It is not even as though you made ‘wrong’ decisions. In most cases, people do not make decisions at all.

You will never get what you want until you know exactly what it is you do want.
