“I don’t know what to do.” “I feel stuck.” “I’m lost.” Those are words I hear frequently from clients. Life feels stalled. All those big hopes and dreams seem to have just evaporated into dust. The meaning of life and how your time should be spent has no bearing to you. Who has time to think of things like that?
You feel your life is going no where.
You are stuck and unhappy.
Feeling exhausted every day.
Seeing another day pass with nothing achieved but one more day of your life gone.
That clock is ticking down, another day older.
And you still can’t see what to do with your life.
I’d say that you are lacking a purpose in life, you have no meaning of life and it’s time to put a stop to your sadness, despair and hopelessness!
You just need to understand one thing – life is meaningless without meaning or purpose. So you need to find what will give you a meaning of life. Your own personal understanding of what you are meant to be doing with your life.
To many people let fast-paced living take over their life. They don’t have time to enjoy anything or build anything of real importance, and I’m not just talking about a business, a career, or relationships, but life in general.
Let me ask you a question, when you die would you look back with joy and excitement at all that time you spent working? I doubt it.
Let’s look at things in another perspective. My mother died yesterday. Maybe not what you expected to read, but hey ho, I’m a blogger, I love to blog, as much as I love helping others change their life, so writing is my therapy.
So there I was lying in bed last night having spent all day at her home. She passed away at 6.12 am. I was thinking to myself about all those times we’ve shared together. All my memories of her. Our life together, The moments we had that were special. And there weren’t enough, way too few. Over the years I had spent far to long at work, and way too little being together with her. I can’t change this, but I can avoid constantly repeating my mistakes with others.
Your special relationships are important. You can’t have your time over again, so make sure you put the time and effort in to the right places, those that matter.
Having ensured that special relationships are nurtured in the right way then you have to make sure you find meaning or purpose. I’m not thinking today about what meaning my mum’s life had, but about my own. You see she put a lot of effort into giving me life, nurturing me and supporting me. She did so much that it deserves a ‘brilliant’ end result. So to me it’s essential that I am using my time here to create a fantastic legacy and creating a meaning to my life, and that’s what we should all be doing.
Let me reinforce this – you shouldn’t be spending all your time trying to survive, making money to pay the bills. Instead take some time to think about the meaning of life.
It involves taking time to thinking about and finding your purpose and meaning in life. It’s about finding what you love to do the most, living with passion, finding the place you can really help others in a great way.
The meaning of life is a life of meaning. You provide value to others, your life was significant, you contributed much during the time you were here.
Once you’ve discovered your meaning, and center your life on them, it will give a new breath to your life, you’ll be using your talents in service of that meaning you will start to experience the ecstasy of an inspired life.
So today take an hour out. A mere 60 minutes. 3600 seconds. And ponder this question:
What should I do with my life?
