To be a successful blogger you need a high Alexa rank, plenty of comments, a good reputation in the blogging community, and make a reasonable income from your blog. To achieve any of this you have to  plan the path you want your blog to take. Some people consider their blogs successful because they are writing down their thoughts, expressing and sharing their knowledge with others. They make the difference.

Posting frequency is a very well discussed topic between bloggers.  I favor posting as regularly as I can, generally five times a week.

Writing regularly requires hard work and discipline. But it is worth it. New content at regular intervals keep search engines happy, increases your ranking, builds your reputation and gets you better traffic.

Search engines love blogs because they love new content. So adding new and fresh content to your site will make it easier for your blog to be found and recogised by the  search engines such as Google, MSN and Yahoo. Every time new content is posted on a blog, the blog site pings the search engines. This results in frequent search engine spider visits and hence much higher optimization and ranking.

The key for any blogger is to get traffic. So they have to do many things to make this happen. One of which is to write frequently. And I’m not talking about poor content. You must strive to make every article you write the best one ever.

I truly believe you need to be passionate about your subject to do this.  Great content comes from writing from the heart. You have to be passionate about what you are writing. You have to care about your content, and be driven by how it will help your readers. Remember, first and foremost blogging is a way to help others. I’m always thinking about what information I can give to help my readers

Don’t be afraid to vary your repertoire! On my high ranked blog at Healthy Lifestyles Living I write about a wide variety of categories. In the main I love publishing personal development articles, but I also include the subjects of diet and fitness. At times I will also write about blogging. It doesn’t hurt to add a bit of variety at times.

Successful blogging is dependent on writing good content on a regular basis. You have to be original! Your readers want to read original content, not rehashed trash that they have seen dozens of times before.

Never forget the blogosphere is saturated with millions of blogs, so your readers are not short for choice, for them to choose you, to keep coming back, you’ve got to rise above everyone else. Providing truly great content is a must to achieve this.

You have to create content that interests, benefits, and educates your readers.  Writing quality articles daily like this is not easy. It can create for you a very tough schedule. But the advantages are great.

What can often stop you from writing new content is either time or things to say. This can be overcome with content planning.  I always come up with the titles first and work from there. Once I have the title as my starting point I am  then able to just write and write.

Sometimes I use Google ad words Keyword research to find phrases which help me to come up with some  new blog post ideas.

The most important rule of all is to try and publish content that is useful and interesting to your readers. Aim to produce high quality content.

It takes time to learn how to write better content.  It also takes imagination, pluck and hard work.  But for those who are committed to creating a wonderful well read blog making your content excellent will bring fantastic rewards.
