We have been rewarded with a massive stroke of luck in business this week. Something that we have often talked about but never done anything about, has fallen into our lap right out of the blue. We are looking for new offices, our business has grown quicker than we thought, and a friend knew of a property that was available, the size we required in the Geographic’s we were looking at. What he didn’t realise was the owner of these offices also ran another business perfectly aligned with our main site healthy lifestyles living.
]He is in retail, but he only runs a bricks and mortar site and has no online presence and certainly no ecommerce shop. So with his supply line, our powerful site, and skills in blogging and ecommerce its natural that not only would we think yes these offices are great, but we’d all think what a perfect partnership we could make, and what a business we could build. It’s so exciting, such a surprise and came from nowhere.
There can be no doubt that Neil, my business partner and I, have demonstrated passion and perseverance towards our goals. We have worked incredibly hard and for two years have slowly but surely built a successful business, and a good reputation. In both our minds there really is no way around it, working hard is necessary if you want to get what you want.
We’re also lucky in the fact that we both lover what we do. We are living a life filled with passion and enthusiasm. One of the greatest assets that results from this is that other people tend to trust and respect people like us and are willing to listen, and that opens doors to new opportunities like the one we have just walked through.
But it wasn’t planned. There are some amazing coincidences in life but overall, I reckon we decide our own road in life. Working hard, being persistent, showing determination has definitely positioned us in the right place. But meeting the guy that could supply us with the perfect products, that needs people like us to do it for him online, well there’s only one word that comes to mind, and that’s luck.
I believe luck in business plays a very vital role and if something is in your destiny you definitely will get lucky, and feel as though fate has played his hand. But you have to have done the hard work to put yourself into the right position to be able to make the most of these moments of fortune. We can set goals and strive to reach them, but at times we need some luck to go our way, but I do believe we earn this.
My theory is that it’s possible to change your prosperity with hard work, positivity and some good fortune.
There is simple formula that I now can see:
Success=Hard Work +Persistence + Passion + Determination + Luck/Fate
Do you believe we earn our own luck in business, or is it simply a predetermined path we cannot change?
