Today I want to look at the virtue of entrepreneurship passion. What do I mean of virtue?

The meaning and definition of virtue according to Think Exist Dictionary is

[li]Manly strength or courage; bravery; daring; spirit; valor.[/li] [li]Energy or influence operating without contact of the material or sensible substance.[/li] [li]Active quality or power; capacity or power adequate to the production of a given effect; energy; strength; potency; efficacy; as, the virtue of a medicine.[/li] [li]A particular moral excellence; as, the virtue of temperance, of charity, etc.[/li] [li]One of the orders of the celestial hierarchy.[/li] [li]Excellence; value; merit; meritoriousness; worth.[/li] [li]Specifically: Chastity; purity; especially, the chastity of women; virginity.[/li] [li]Specifically, moral excellence; integrity of character; purity of soul; performance of duty.[/li]

Now I’m not referring to the chastity of a virgin, I will leave other sites and their different understanding of passion to discuss that. To me the power of producing and doing something you love and taking pride in and passing it on to others is the virtue of following your entrepreneurship passions.

It was Aristotle that said “the good of man is activity of soul [psyche] in accordance with virtue [excellence], or, if there are more virtues than one, in accordance with the best and most complete virtue.”

‘An Entrepreneur can be defined as a person with a vision, original ideas, decision making and daring to try. He acts as a leader, and boss of the show, who decides how business should be done, who coordinates and arranges all factors of production, who has expertise in the field, who anticipates the market trends, demand patterns and prices. The entrepreneur is also an inventor who bring in new ideas, new commodities, new processes and encourages his team in new activities. An entrepreneur is also an organizer’.(Badi & Badi, 2005)

I have the fortune of supporting others on their entrepreneurial journey. They remind me of myself a few years ago when I began my pursuit of building a business online.

I offer them one fundamental principle that I completely believe, and that is the virtue of entrepreneurship passion. They must have passion and go into the business that they love.

The question I ask them to consider is “What within me is it I want to be doing that I love and could make a great living out of it?”

Some entrepreneurs continuously struggle to bring a single idea or product to market while others seem to be able to do it almost effortlessly, time and again. Steve Jobs, achieved a renowned level of success with Apple and is an example of somebody driven by his entrepreneurship passion.

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” Steve Jobs

If there were ever someone to take entrepreneurial advice from it was Steve Jobs. He is correct in that the love of your work is felt in the heart. But what about those that have not yet found what they love? Steve Jobs suggests to keep looking until you find it — don’t settle!

Many of those I am working with knew they wanted to start a business but they didn’t know exactly what it was. They got hooked into Network Marketing, and like hundreds of thousands of others they ended up trying to sell products they had absolutely no passion for. I even know one who couldn’t use his own product because he was allergic to it. To me, there would be no excitement, fun, enjoyment in selling products that had so little meaning to me, that meant nothing than the money they could earn and the possibility of recruiting others to do the same ‘boring’ things as me. Who would want to get stuck doing this for a lifetime when their passions could far easier make a fabulous living for them, allowing them to enjoy every second of their work. My advice to them was stop, see where your heart will take you. This question, and the time they give it for reflecting on the answer has proven to be an unbelievable catalyst to propel them forward.

Once the penny drops, and you feel entrepreneurship passion reverberating through every part of your body for a chosen field, suddenly the mindset of an entrepreneur sets in, they become inventive, committed, confident, tireless with an intense level of focus. You see we are the most motivated when we are doing something we love. It’s your true calling.

You will think about your business all the time.

You will enjoy what you are doing.

You love nothing more than talking about it

Your work comes naturally to you.

You love what you do.

You look forward to working the moment you get out of bed.

In place of obstacles you see only opportunities.

So understand here and now, passion is what drives an entrepreneur. It’s what makes someone work 20 hours a day at times. It’s what inspires you to spend countless hours developing a new product. Without passion, there is only ‘work’ to be done. With passion, there’s an excitement to share that can make a difference.”

So if passion is not the thing that drives us, I do not know what else is.

And it’s working for me.

But here is my question for you “What one thing are you so passionate about that you can build a business around it and truly bring your dreams of Entrepreneurship Passion to reality?

If you are at the point in life, where you are ready to make changes, big changes then you’ve come to the right place. If you’re stuck in your career not knowing the right way forward than i can help you clarify your vision for the future.
