It’s a great feeling when you start a blog. It seems you have so much to say and you’re desperate to get started right away. You begin writing, and brilliant blog content just pours from you. But and after a few short weeks you realize… what do I have left to say … I’ve dried up! I’ve got nothing to say. The doors on yet another blog shut tight closed for ever more.

Over at Healthy Lifestyles Living, I’ve been blogging nearly 2 years now, and I can still write every day with no problem. I’ve got about 50 post titles I want to still write on my mind right now.

That’s why it’s so important to blog on something you’re passionate about. It’s so easy to think up content. It comes to you in your sleep, while you’re sitting on the toilet, driving in your car, ideas and thoughts are always popping in to your head.

If you made the decision to blog, you must then have something worth saying!

What is it?

Your blog content doesn’t start when you’re sitting at the keyboard hammering away at the keys. It begins with an idea in your head about what you want to write about. When you love your subject, and when you know your subject you know two important things. What it is you have on your mind that you want to say, and what problems exist that people need solutions for.

What is it you want your readers to take away from the content you’re going to create?
What’s the overall message?
What’s the problem perhaps you’re helping them solve?
Where are you giving them value through it?

Everything I’ve said here is obvious to you if you’re a passionate blogger.

Think of your blog as your online resume. You never know what opportunities could come from it. Of course you could build a business around it, you may get a book deal from the content you produce, perhaps be offered a full time job.

So showcase your expertise and your talents. Let people read your thoughts, your opinions, and your interpretation s on a subject you love.

For your blog to be your best resume, it needs to be a true reflection of your capabilities.

Always use your own voice. The reason so many blog posts are boring is because there’s no real part of the author inside them. In order for people to care, you have to give them a piece of you. Give them an opinion, wear your heart on your sleeve, and write like it matters.

Never forget blogging helps build your credibility. It helps to build your persona, your personal brand. When you first start out in your internet business, no-one knows your name. Then as you gradually write more articles, if they hit the mark, you will get yourself known.

Thousands of new blogs are launched every day, but only a handful ever get read by more than a few hundred people, and even fewer ever make any profit, it’s no wonder that the vast majority of bloggers give up and shut down their site within a year.

For yours to succeed bring yourself, all of you, heart and soul into everything you write.

The real magic of a successful blog is that it creates real value for its readers.

So, get busy …
… create a lot of content which comes to you naturally without too much effort or struggle.
… find out about things that others want to know about in your niche.
… create content that isn’t available elsewhere.
… demonstrate your own unique personal angle or perspective.

Now get writing, and make it great!
