Gary Vaynerchuk in his book Crush It wrote “Wine Library TV was never about selling wine on the Internet. It was always about building brand equity”. He also tells you that developing your personal brand is key to monetizing your passions online. And he is 100% right.

When you are hoping to create an online business it’s essential that you build it around an identity which screams out to others “Hire Me,” “Do Business With Me” or ‘Buy from me.”  In this digital age, with the power of search engines and social networking, you have got to make sure that your ‘personal brand’ not only stands out but impresses.

A key part of making a success on line is down to the brand you build around yourself.  Your personal brand is all about who you are and what you want to be known for. You need to develop your  personal mantra, this is the “heart and soul” of your brand. It’s who you are and what you have to offer.

Personal branding is about intentionally influencing how the world sees you. It’s about purposefully packaging that “brand called You.”

I was asked to look at a couple of web sites today. I was asked to give my honest opinion. I said they were nice sites, but they didn’t sell the author or their products.

It is important that you are sending a consistent and clear message with your personal brand  and of even more importance., you are putting over the right message.

In today’s competitive internet world, everyone has a personal brand that defines who they are, what they do and the message that they want to project online. Whether we like it or not, personal branding plays a huge role in today’s online market. And if we get it wrong we have no chance of creating a successful online business.

There are those that will convince you that all you have to do is build a profile on facebook, twitter and linkedin, and then just chat away consistently. They’re wrong. Making a success online is all about offering value to others. It’s about helping people solve problems. But they have to trust that you are capable of doing it. Your personal brand will either place you as an expert in your field, or not.

So why should I buy of you? What’s your unique selling proposition? Get this right and one day, have no doubts, you will become a success online.
