I received an awesome comment on one of my blog articles Help for Bloggers and Internet Marketers which said “Who is to blame though? Is it the industry for hyping it up? Or is it people buying into these products or the industry and giving up too easily?” This was written by a brilliant blogger/internet marketer called Lilach Bullock.

Internet Marketing has helped my ecommerce business and blogs take off big time and I for one am delighted it has. However some of the marketing tactics used by others associated to the industry strike me as being well overdone or frankly questionable. In fact in some cases they’re a real con. I’ve lost count how many websites I’ve come accross in the last 18 months promising they can show me how to be a six figure earner. All this does, I believe, is make people now try to steer away from internet marketers.

But is Internet marketing a scam? No, it’s not. There are plenty of ways to make a full-time income using your computer and an internet connection, alongside Internet Marketing as long as you’re willing to put in the time and effort to get things done.

As I come from the blogging world I have felt the necessity to cut out the hype and give you the real deal on internet marketing. The best tools, tips, tricks, and techniques that it offers have contributed in no small way to the money I am now making online.

With me, the one thing I promise is there will never be any hype, bullshit or ‘how to be a six figure earner in 24 hours’ get rich quick outrageous promises. Just straight-up internet marketing, blogging and seo advice..

Let’s face facts, consumers in today’s world are ‘advertised’ nearly to death. Each of us is exposed to hundreds of advertising and marketing messages every single day wherever we are. We’ve got wiser to it. We know that it’s just advertising, and most of it promises the earth and delivers virtually nothing.

And we treat any advertisements that make ridiculous claims like ‘Do Nothing and Earn $100,000 in One Week’ with the contempt they deserve. Please don’t let them insult your intelligence, you’re better than that, and you know that isn’t a real possibility.

But I do promise you, without using a rash claim , the internet is a great place to make some extra money and eventually with hard work, time and the right knowledge it can change your life. The important thing is to manage your initial expectations.

What I’m going to share with you today is going to help you more than most you’ve read before. It’s not what most would tell you, but I’m telling you how it is. Stop thinking big! By this I mean kick into touch the idea of becoming the next six figure earner.

Too many Internet marketers claim to know the “secret” to online profits. They tell you all you have to do is give them $99, and they’ll let you in on the secret method to produce overnight six figure income online.

Internet Guru’s say ‘think big’. I say start small. Be realistic. There’s magic in thinking small. You won’t end up pouring more and more money out for products that promise the earth and deliver nothing. By you concentrating your efforts, and setting targets that are achievable, you are providing yourself with the biggest chance to succeed.

Most internet marketers I come across, are earning nothing, yet they still are following the unrealistic dream of 6 figures. But what I know is they’d actually be happy if they were making $2,000 a month, then $3,000 and finally reached $5,000. When they set these goals, they will find it so much easier to achieve them.

Would you be happy with $60,000 a year from working online. You can make this sort of money but it takes a lot of hard work and commitment.

The only way to succeed is staying disciplined to taking small steps, and get your head out the clouds. Start thinking smaller. Start focusing on JUST THE NEXT STEP.
