Thank you for your Amazing teaching Larry!
I absolutely agree with you.
How true is what you say that you can't kill an idea once it formed in your mind.
I believe that that is so because ideas come from thoughts. Good or bad ones. And they are like seeds. Once they get into the soil of your mind they will grow and finally they will either define you or destroy you depending on what they are.
How true is also what you say about people giving up on their dreams. In my opinion, this is the true time of the death of a person. The official time is after many years when the doctor fills up the death certificate.
Society is bringing us up to be quiters. Walking dead. Society, school, many times Church (and I distinguish NOT the word of Jesus in the New Testament) want to teach all of us to be fatalists. To accept whithout question what is happening to us. That is why, I believe, most people don't realize they are "dead" on their feet. Because they adjust to the norm of society. And they feel happy about it! It becomes their "comfort zone".
I was discussing with a "highly" paid employee some years ago and he was telling me: "You know Christo, I can't say that my job is exciting. I am highly paid though. But what bothers me most is the routine. But you know what? You end up liking it!".
AMAZING! I was left flabbergasted! How to argue? How to tell this guy that he was sleeping if he thought that he was awake?
Thank God there are shiny exceptions of people who show the way to others. The way to brake the mold.
Like you Larry and many others.
Like the ancient Greek Philosophers.
Like Winston Churchill who in his very short speach he delivered in front of the students of Harrow School in 1941, he simply said:
"Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give up. Never give up. Never give up. Never give up."
