Too many folks think they can make do with an imitation product. There are only two ways that succeeds.
The first is to have plenty of capital, so you can swamp the others with marketing and publicity. That is not sure-fired, but one of the ways.
The second is to offer customer support/service second to none, so that your me-too product has something special to offer the public.
Of course, as Larry said- the best way is to have your own "gizmo" or "service"- because you set the standards of the item and the support!

Anytime, anyone begins to journey into their own business they have to realize the work that is going to be put into it...especially when it is your own...you want it to be perfect! Success doesn't come overnight and sometimes your original idea will open up into several ideas and you have to take one step at a time without tripping over your own feet :) Owning your own business that becomes a success is one of the most satisfying experiences anyone will ever have, but it does take dedication and self-discipline. No one is going to pick up the slack for you; it's your baby :)
Thanks for a great post Larry!
