Okay, why do I blog? There are several components of my life that are a true passion…some because of my choice, others because I was thrown into a situation and turned it around to fit into our lives. Writing allows me to share these passions with others, some for pure joy, others in hopes that it will help someone along the road that is going through the same experiences that we have been through. But, there comes a time in blogging that you have to weigh the time you put into it versus what you are getting out of it. I guess that what you expect from your blog closely correlates to why you are blogging in the first place. One can spend many, many hours between their blogs and social media. If you are single, or don’t have anything better to do, then I guess that would never pose an issue. But, if you have a family and other interests in life, blogging can consume you and at some point, you find that is all you are doing from morning to night.
I have been blogging for over two years now and I am at a point that I enjoy the interaction, but for the amount of time that I spend away from my family and interests, I need to be able to make in financially feasible to continue spending that time. I need to validate my time to my family. This is the point in time that I get serious about monetizing my site with my passion. There is so much available for one to do as a blogger that I think they totally miss it, concentrating on their next post or their social medias. I’m moving in a very positive direction with my sites. It may be slow, but it is definitely a change for me.
