My dad, John Fraser, was MD of Pearl and Dean in, I think the late 1960s to early 1970s. I have fond memories of Ernie and Connie Pearl. On one occasion, Dad had to see Ernie on a Saturday evening at his flat in Lowndes Square. I came with him as he had his grandson staying who was a similar age. While they talked business, we roller-skated up and down their wide long hallway. I also remember receiving gift vouchers from Harrods from them every Christmas. Most of all I remember the fun of travelling to Paris with Mum and Dad for a business trip over a half term and having a couple of meals with Ernie and Connie Pearl. Several funny stories linked to that too.

Hello. I knew a lovely lady in the early 80’s called Heather Pearl who I met in London. I was a dancer and she was an avid ballet fan. She always wore a scarf round her head and looked very Russian to me. Someone once told me she was related to Pearl’s of Pearl and Dean. I never asked her but wonder if it’s true.

Hi Larry Please remember me to your father and give him my best wishes. I came over from Theatre Publicity and stayed through several take-overs surviving the John Bentley massacre and after many years moved into MAI Head Office where I stayed until over 50 years in total but remember my P&D days in many areas, including David when he came in straight from school. I was with Cyril Desmond in West Africa when he got ill and lost his hearing fortunately my bout didn’t affect me. Worked a lot with Stuart so if you see him say Hi to him from me.

Larry, I remember your Dad Mervyn very well, and Ernie and Dickie. I joined Pearl & Dean straigt from school as a postboy at the Berkeley Street address. After a period in the post room and another period in their cutting rooms in Great Windmill Street, I went to work with your Dad and his sales manager Joe Morris, we were all very close. I well remember Mervyn bringing you into the office. I was with him until he was ousted by the Vavasseur Group. I well remember his secretary Irene Tunney and your cousins, Lenny and Stuart Citron. Then there is Mervyns brother, David, who was married to Josie Reed. I also remember the sales team, even Cyril Desmond who was stone deaf and the father of “Desmond” the newspaper, magazine and TV publisher. Happy Days.
